Pennsylvania/New Jersey-based CARVED UP lets a new single off the chain through a Revolver Magazine exclusive as their Matador debut LP prepares to trample into the streets in less than two weeks.
“Riffer Phoenix” is the latest in the extensive array of riff puns integrated into the CARVED UP song-naming process to be issued to the public, the track a prime illustration of the band’s instrumental side, as virtually half of Matador was written and executed sans-vocals. Letting their riffs do the instigating with more chops than a horde of Bruce Lee’s hammering at your guts, “Riffer Phoenix” is one of the instrumental cuts on Matador that slides right past the bullshit with a weaponized version of that “less talk, more rock” mindset.
