AGAINST ME! EXTENDS NORTH AMERICAN SUMMER TOUR

Against Me! has extended its North American summer tour to include more dates within August 2014. Touring behind the release of the critically acclaimed Transgender Dysphoria Blues, an album that entered the Billboard Top 200 at #23, the band’s highest charting position ever, Against Me! will be making both headlining and supporting appearances in both the U.S. and Canada beginning with a performance at Forecastle Festival in Louisville, KY on Friday, July 18and extending through the middle of October 2014. Additionally, frontwoman Laura Jane Grace will be making an appearance at this year’s inauguralAlternative Press Music Awards in Cleveland, OH on MondayJuly 21. Held at the legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and being broadcast live on AXS TV, the AP Music Awards, fueled by Monster Energy Drink, will include an hour pre-show red carpet, photo-op event and will be hosted by Mark Hoppus of Blink-182. The evening will include live performances from punk legends the Misfits and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, breakthrough artist twenty one pilots, current heavy-hitters Fall Out Boy, plus exclusive collaborations and surprise special guests. Laura Jane Grace is also currently in the middle of filming for her brand new original series titled “So Much More.” Produced by AOL Studios, “So Much More” is her story – and the story of other members of the trans community whose experiences are woefully underrepresented and misunderstood in the media. Additional details on the show will be revealed soon but fans can subscribe here to receive updates and view new media in the coming weeks.

Transgender Dysphoria Blues, Against Me!’s sixth full-length album that was recently deemed “one of the most incisive and life-affirming rock albums of the ’10s” by SPIN, is the intense follow-up to the band’s previous full-length, White Crosses, and stands as another major benchmark for the band and its career spanning over 15 years. Recorded at Studio 606, Earth Sound Studio, Motor Studio, Total Treble Studio and mixed by Billy Bush (Garbage, Muse, Tegan and Sara),Transgender Dysphoria Blues is an insightful and highly-provocative 10-song offering written by frontwoman Laura Jane Grace, whose material examines one’s grappling with gender dysphoria, the loss of a young friend and pure self discovery, as well as love and ultimate acceptance. Featuring Grace’s signature, explicit songwriting and dominant vocals, the album also features longtime guitarist/vocalist James Bowman, drummer Atom Willard and Fat Mike of NOFX on bass for “FUCKMYLIFE666” and “Unconditional Love.”

With its lineup firmly in place that includes bassist Inge Johansson of The (International) Noise Conspiracy, Against Me! will be making the following appearances throughout North America this summer and fall with The Gaslight AnthemJenny Owen Youngs and Creepoid. Tour dates below.
