When asked about the inspiration behind creating an original holiday song, Shayna shared, “The thing that has always been the most definitive for me about Christmas/the holidays is time spent with loved ones. As people begin to come and go from our lives with greater frequency, the preciousness of our time with the people we love becomes more and more real. I wanted to write a song about that. We all know what it’s like to count down the days until we get to see someone we really miss. It doesn’t matter what religion you are- I think this experience is universal. About Shayna Leigh:
Originally from Orlando, Florida, Shayna Leigh was raised on The Beatles and Carole King, but was also a product of the boy band era. Her mixed influences stayed with her when she moved to New York City for college.
