Brooklyn-based rocktronica/trip-hop artist and audio engineer/producer extraordinaire Erica Glyn announced the release of her highly anticipated EP Dollars For Thieves today. The new project further explores Erica’s gritty, emotive, and outside-the-box signature sound. Erica once again produced the project herself, and engineered the majority of it enlisting the help of master music makers John Ginty (Citizen Cope, Jewel), Shazad Ismaily (Lou Reed, Tom Waits), Joe Tomino (Matisyahu, Dub Trio), and more, with mixes done by Erica and Charley Hustle (The Hustle Standard) and mastering by Mike Rogers (Sinead O’Connor, Mark Anthony).
Dollars For Thieves contains a good mixture of upbeat tracks as well as some slower kaleidoscopic ballads, thus demonstrating Erica’s broad range of talent. Glyn even released album teaser video (below) to give fans an inside look at her unique recording process. Yesterday Erica teamed up with Diffuser for an exclusive first listen of Dollars for Thieves. When asked about the inspiration behind the new project, Erica shared, “Dollars For Thieves is an angst-y 5-song EP that wrestles with 21st century frustrations and the struggle to keep your head above water while pushing to be a better person.”
