This majestically enchanting album is an other-worldly experience that introduces KIDS as innovators, creators, and true artists in the music industry. Here is what KIDS have to say about their first full-length album:
“Life should be an adventure. ‘Rich Coast‘ is an album about many of those adventures. Love, inspiration, fear, aspirations, tragedy, betrayal; the chase for these things, the disappointments, the rewards…The unknown. ‘Rich Coast‘ is a documentation of many of the feelings, experiences, and adventures that accompany endeavors that everyone experiences: learning how to hope, losing hope, and then hoping again.” – KIDS
KIDS is an eclectic four piece indie-rock band from Fort Lauderdale, Florida formed by long time best-friends Josiah Sampson (guitar), Joshua Diaz (lead vocals, bass), Matthew Barrios (drums) and Christian Gonzalez (guitar). With their artfully-created debut album Rich Coast, these gifted musicians are reinventing the feeling of freedom that reminds us of wanderlust, adventure and youthful ambition. Rich Coast unites vintage folk sounds with symphonic melodies and an array of unique instrumentals creating an original indie-rock album.
Rich Coast was written while the band cut off from the world, camping and hiking the Appalachian Trail. KIDS leaped from cliffs, slid down waterfalls, and thrived in nature to translate their emotions and create a raw, original indie/folk sound. The records’ melodies were written while watching muted Spaghetti Western and Kung-Fu classics, giving the album its ethereal picturesque feel. Featuring a wide variety of rare and distinctive eastern instruments such as Gϋseng, Shruti Box, Zither, Melodica, Casinets, and western instruments Hammer Dulcimer, Ukeline, Banjo and Nashville Guitar this enchanting album aims to transport the listener on an adventure. Rich Coast was produced by Jeremiah Dunlap at Emissary Studios in Orlando, FL, mixed by James Joseph (James Joseph Audio) in Memphis, and mastered by Brad Blackwood at Euphonic Masters in Nashville, TN.
With cinematic album trailers and an enchantingly celebratory music video leading up to the premiere of

More About Kids:
KIDS (similar to Young the Giant, American Authors, Mumford & Sons) is an eclectic four piece American Indie-rock band formed in 2012 by Josiah Sampson (guitar), Joshua Diaz (lead vocals, bass), Matthew Barrios (drums) and Christian Gonzalez (guitar). Aside from their musical career, the band works in lead production roles at C&I Studios in Fort Lauderdale alongside Joshua Miller, who after hearing songs from the band’s debut album Rich Coast (Released 1/27/15) got a creative itch; writing a series of trailers, music videos, and branding concepts that would ultimately set the release of Rich Coast on the map in the music and film industry and beyond. Together, setting a new standard for the relationship between indie songwriting and film, KIDS and C&I Studios are expanding their creativity and transforming music into short film, bringing fans on a journey through time as they tell their story. KIDS is not just an indie-rock band, they’re an all-inclusive musical experience.
In early 2013, KIDS released their debut EP Sink or Swim which had fans wildly raving about their musical craftsmanship and inspiring lyrics. The band also released a music video for the title track “Sink or Swim” produced by KIDS and C&I Studios (“The Distance,” “Grace from Above”). KIDS has shared the stage with bands such as Copeland, Parachutes, Go Radio, and The Rocket Summer. The band also prides themselves on giving back, they have headlined a rally for Invisible Children. KIDS’ thrilling performances made a lasting impression at Florida Music Festival and when they shared the stage with Surfer Blood and The Neighbourhood at Coastline Festival, featuring indie-icons Passion Pit, Matt & Kim, and Capital Cities. KIDS’ music has been licensed by C&I Studios and Hard Rock Energy, who featured “The Standoff” from Rich Coast and guitarist Josiah Sampson, in their debut commercial.
Rich Coast is KIDS’ first full length album, artfully created while the band was camping and hiking the Appalachian Trail. The records’ melodies were written while watching classic Spaghetti Western films and Kung-Fu movies on silent, giving the album its otherworldly picturesque feel. Rich Coast was produced in Orlando, FL at Emissary Studios, mixed at James Joseph Audio in Memphis, and mastered at Euphonic Masters in Nashville, TN. The band finds their signature voice in this record; by adding a vintage cinematic edge to their popular indie style songwriting. KIDS’ highly anticipated debut album Rich Coast is to be released on January 27, 2015.
