St. Petersburg, FL Ska-Infused band, UNRB successfully blend traditional reggae and ska rhythms with modern alt-rock aesthetics. The 7-piece contains very unorthodox instrumentation, using an electric ukulele instead of a guitar and featuring a powerful 4-piece horn section that routinely switches instruments between songs. Their music touches almost every genre including ska, rock, funk, blues, jazz, reggae, polka, even some classical… nothing is off limits. With several releases under their belt, today UNRB are thrilled to premiere their brand new music video for “The House on Lime Street” with Substream Music Magazine off of their brand new EP Collateral Jammage. “It’s a blast of funky ska-fusion that’ll make you shimmy and skank across the dance floor-and if you’re lucky, to the afterparty” explains Scott Heisel of Substream Music Magazine. The band explains the story behind the song:
“The House on Lime Street” means so much to UNRB because it’s a true story about a major part of the band’s history. Filling the little coffeeshop in Tarpon Springs beyond capacity made us realize that our young band had potential to do more, and the afterpartys at Andy’s house just a few blocks away were pure unbridled fun. We tried to capture as much of the party spirit as we could in the recording and the video, and we’re very pleased with how they both turned out. It can get a little loud and a little weird, but in the end it’s so so much fun- it’s the House on Lime Street!
Collateral Jammage features “The House on Lime Street” and “Figure It Out” which were produced, recorded and mixed by Blackerby & Dave Kaminsky; “Collateral Jammage” and “Id” were produced, recorded, and mixed by Zack Odom & Kenneth Mouth; Mastered by Tom Morris. UNRB had this to note about the release:
“We’re absolutely in love with Collateral Jammage from top to bottom. It’s our best songwriting yet, the whole band brings their A game on the record and the production quality is superb. It’s the culmination of all our efforts up to this point and you can feel the energy pulsing every track. This is the album that we want to represent UNRB and we’re proud to have it serve as many people’s introduction to the band as we spread our sound across the country.”
UNRB just wrapped a killer performance at this years Summerfest (alongside The Rolling Stones, Kings of Leon, Stevie Wonder and more). The band who just returned home from their headlining “Bottoms Up Tour” which started in their hometown. UNRB had this to say about their tour and Summerfest performance:
“Embarking on this tour is a huge step for UNRB, one that we’re still in disbelief that we get to take. Traveling to Summerfest and back isn’t just the trip of a lifetime for us- it shows the true potential of what this band can achieve. As excited as we are to be bringing a new album on the road with us on our biggest tour ever, we’re already talking about ways to continue our success as a band and consistently deliver quality performances and products for our fans. Because none of this- the new album, the cross-country tour, the UNRBus- would be possible without the love and support we get from our fans.”
