[Noise of the Week] Behind The Curtains Media + SwitchBitch hit Northside Festival

Behind The Curtains Media, SwitchBitch, and friends hosted a whopping five showcases across Brooklyn, New York this past week for Northside Festival. They brought rockers out from all across the country to get crowds screaming and dancing along to the beat. Taylor Tucker, Fable Cry, Manic Pixi, Flannel Mouth, The Skulx, and more brought the party everywhere they went.

The week started strong at Bar Matchless, where Behind The Curtains Media teamed up with Rocker Stalker for opening night. Despite the fact that it was a Thursday evening, the massive eight-band bill included lots of locals such as The Flux Machine, Pussywolf, Courtesy Tier, Newborn, and Of Clocks and Clouds, and came out swinging, as did the fans.

In fact, the first night went so well that they decided to do it all over again the next day! Friday afternoon at Bar Matchless started the weekend off right with the gloriously pop-punk Manic Pixi, followed by a slew of hard hitting rockers such as Flannel Mouth, Courtesy Tier, Fable Cry, and The Skulx.

If you think that’s a lot, that was only the very beginning of what Behind The Curtains Media had up their sleeve. Friday night saw a change of venue, with the party spilling out of Bar Matchless and into Rock Shop, where Astoria’s You Bred Raptors and Providence, RI rock outfit Wild Sun joined in on the fun.

As if the past two days hadn’t been enough of a good time, Saturday night’s show was held at Industry City Distillery, where craft cocktails flowed generously and strangers were friends by the end of the first song. Despite what could certainly be considered a marathon of shows in the days prior, Flannel Mouth, Manic Pixi, and The Skulx continued to amaze crowds with their endless energy. Yaman Palak, Noble Kids, Taylor Tucker, and Secret Nudist Friends all joined the bill on Saturday as well.

Sunday saw the end of another Northside Festival, but not without one more treat from Behind The Curtains. The coolest of cool ladies graced the stage at Goldsounds for their Women in Music showcase, featuring Isa Lopez, Michelle Wake, Sulene, Taylor Tucker, Ellen Siberian-Tiger, Lesley Barth, and Manic Pixi.
