Long-running Ohio volume abusers, BENEATH OBLIVION, will be touring the U.S. next month month on a near three-week live takeover. Set to commence on May 4th in Cincinnati, the band will crumble the stages of nineteen cities along the Eastern Seaboard, with the trek drawing to a close on May 21st in Richmond, Virginia.
Forged in 2003, BENEATH OBLIVION is a working class funeral doom collective hailing from a dying city in the Ohio River Valley. Fusing traditional doom elements with extreme metal and punk, BENEATH OBLIVION’s sound conjurings are cold, dismal, and introverted. In addition to a variety of new releases in the works — including a split seven-inch with St. Louis sludge trio, Fister and a ten-inch split with Before The Eyewall as well as plans to record a new full-length with Billy Anderson in the Fall — the band recently recorded two brand new songs. Set for release in cassette format, the as-yet-untitled tracks will be limited to fifty copies and available throughout the tour.
