Nashville, TN’s Better Off will release their sophomore full-length Milk, on September 11, via Equal Vision Records. The album was produced by Arun Bali (of Saves The Day), engineered/mixed by Matt McClellan (Being As An Ocean, Better Off), and mastered by Kris Crummett (The Early November, The Story So Far).
“Milk, as a whole, is basically a landmark of maturation and solidarity for us as a band,” shares Better Off vocalist/guitarist Luke Granered. “We went in knowing what we wanted the record to sound like and not caring if it fit in with any group of bands specifically, which can be a serious setback sometimes creatively speaking. Big guitar sounds, hooky choruses, guitar solos. We just wanted it to be a rock record, and something we could enjoy playing for a very long time.”
“Whatever, I Don’t Care” – the first new song to premiere from the album – can be heard now at Youtube.com/equalvision and BetterOff.merchnow.com, where pre-orders have also launched. Of the song, Granered reveals, “‘Whatever, I Don’t Care’ is about a generation of Internet activists that are ready to be mad at anything in a moment’s notice, and are ready to tear each other apart by any means necessary. But only if it’s not in person, because what they are passionate about tends to be forgotten when they log off. Typically, the focus of the anger is misplaced and unnecessary.”
Tomorrow, Better Off will kick off their next tour, supporting Basement, Whirr, and LVL UP. Following the six date run, Better Off will then head out with The Early November before the two bands join up with Bayside for a full US tour. All upcoming tour dates can be found below.
Milk is the follow-up to Better Off‘s most recent 7”/digital single release of “Meth Head” and their 2013 debut LP (I Think) I’m Leaving. Better Off has previously toured and shared stages with the diverse likes of New Found Glory, Taking Back Sunday, Motion City Soundtrack, Vinnie Caruana, Copeland, Defeater, and more.
Better Off is Luke Granered (guitar/vocals), Jon Dalman (bass), Charles Miller (drums) and Hunter Walls (guitar).
“Whatever, I Don’t Care” is also available now as an instant grat track download through iTunes, AmazonMP3 and MerchNOW.
