Montreal-based eclectic/experimental rock trio, BIG|BRAVE, will release its Efrim Menuck-produced sophomore LP, Au De La, through Southern Lord Recordings this Friday, and in advance of its unveiling the entire album is now playing courtesy of Noisey
Presenting forty-five minutes of exploratory, post/avant rock, Au De La sees vocalist/guitarist Robin Wattie, guitarist Mathieu Bernard Ball and drummer Louis-Alexandre Beauregard creating a layered, engaging, memorable, visceral expedition. With five expansive movements which transmit BIG|BRAVE‘s imaginative sounds with exceptional production values, Au De La was recorded at Hotel2Tango with Efrim Menuck (Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Thee Silver Mt Zion Memorial Orchestra) and mastered by Harris Newman at Grey Market (Front Line Assembly, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, C H R I S T), several of its tracks also including striking veils of violin by Jessica Moss (Thee Silver Mt Zion Memorial Orchestra).
To help broadcast BIG|BRAVE‘s dynamic new album to open-minded music fans around the globe, Vice Magazine has interrogated the trio twice — for a Daily Vice video segment as well as a more detailed interview coinciding with an early stream of Au De La — both of which are now posted. Issues the magazine’s write-up of the new album paired with the exclusive album stream, “Montreal’s genre-defying post-rock combo BIG|BRAVE could very well be the most noteworthy recent heavy curiosity to come out of the city in recent years. A loud, ugly and down-tempo baseless trio whose recent signing to Greg Anderson’s seminal black metal/doom label Southern Lord Recordings proved sufficient to convince even the most cynical observers that seriously unsafe bands still have something to strive for.”

This Friday, September 18th, Southern Lord will issue Au De La in digital, CD, and on LP with both black and clear pressings. Preorders for the physical versions are available HERE and the digitalHERE.
