“Between her awesomely refreshing positive attitude, soaring vocal melodies, and wide assortment of multicolored wigs, she’s that girl you grew up always wanting to befriend but just weren’t sure if you were cool enough to talk to or not.” – Trim Magazine
Tallahassee, FL // September 9, 2014 – Today, the powerhouse singer/songwriter Lauren Wilhelm also known as Dazy (The Girl) has released a pop-punk cover of “Let It Go” the smashing hit from Frozen featuring Jake Bundrick of Mayday Parade. The track was produced, mixed, and mastered by ZK Productions and can be purchased here. This is one of three covers Dazy (The Girl) released in 2014. She covered the 1975’s hit song “Chocolate” and released a special music video for her cover of John Legend’s “All Of Me.” The music video is a tribute to her life as a mother and can be viewed here.

Dazy (The Girl) released her second single with music video earlier this summer for “Never Calm Down” which can be viewed here. Wilhelm and Sanders detail their experience in the studio together recording “I Told You So,” shooting the music video, and life at home in the latest in-depth interview with Property of Zack.

“There is something special about stripping a song down to its bare bones and Dazy does a great job with arrangement, giving the song her own sensual twist.” – Surviving The Golden Age

Hailing from Tallahassee, FL, Lauren Wilhelm, always considered herself as the “wild flower-child.” At a very early age, Wilhelm learned how to sing, play piano, and guitar from her parents. Over time it would be Wilhelm’s mom that would become her biggest musical influence. It was no surprise, that at the tender age of 13, Wilhelm wrote her very first song beautifully crafting her musicianship and exploring her powerhouse voice.

Emerging onto the music scene, the free-spirited Wilhelm gathered inspiration from many life events and a diverse music background. At the age of 18, Wilhelm formed the band Maradona where she learned how to write pop/rock tunes and sing on stage with a band. After a short Warped Tour stint, the band split to explore other adventures. Fast forward a few years, Wilhelm was ready to branch out and pursue her first solo career.

Never truly falling into one genre, Wilhelm describes her solo music as being, “Poppier than Avril, edgier than Katy Perry, more upbeat than Lorde, and heavier that Adele. It’s aggressive pop with a little rock and intense soul.” In her most recent project titled, Dazy (the girl), Wilhelm paired up with Mayday Parade frontman, Derek Sanders for her first single, “I Told You So” produced by Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount. It was this song that developed Wilhelm to pursue Dazy (the girl) project.
