On Sunday, September 25th, Dinowalrus joined forces with fellow New York local bands Sharkmuffin, Dead Leaf Echo and Drawing Boards to showcase their new LP Fairweather.
The four-piece calls themselves psychedelic punk and delivers exactly that with an impressive 11-track catalog driven by ambient guitar and synthesizers. Fairweather truly takes you back to the 80’s, especially with tracks like “Tides”, “Guilty” & “Compass Rose”.
Dinowalrus embraces the past, present and future sounding reminiscent of bands like Hum, INXS, Collective Soul or My Bloody Valentine. They do a brilliant job incorporating various eras of music history into their sound yet adding a unique flare that’s beyond our time.
Their performance Sunday night was extremely polished, playing elegantly despite a power issue with some of the amps. Lead singer Pete Feigenbaum takes control of the stage and Dan Peskin’s synth work is impeccable. The entire band functions well as a unit and their flow definitely translates well onstage. Dinowalrus was among friends, with each band performing that night promoting the sales of their new record.
