So I had never seen either Sleeping With Sirens or State Champs live before, but now that I have, I’d say I’d only go out of my way to see SWS again. Not only does Kellin Quinn (SWS vocalist) sound absolutely majestic on recorded albums, he sounds just as amazing live – even gave me the chills! The stage presence that SWS brings is extremely uplifting and energetic, and it makes for awesome photos. They were really playful with the photographers in the pit, which was really great.
This photo of Kellin was easily in my top three favorite shots of Warped Tour 2016.
Before watching their set, I had only heard a few songs of State Champs, but I never really got into them. The crowd seemed to really love them, though. I know being from New York, playing in Wantagh definitely must have been nice for them. They were pretty aggressive, or at least the lead singer, Derek Discanio was, which also made for awesome photographs. He was totally in the zone and rocking out – hard – so hard that he actually spit into the pit and it got all over me which was definitely interesting!
