The Venetia Fair is hands down, the best performance I have seen since living here in Las Vegas…matter of fact; it’s one of the best performances I’ve ever seen! These guys are complete mad-men on stage and a hazard for anyone in the front row to watch. Their set busted out of the flood gates with “I’m Still Amazed!” and ended like a chaotic train wreck with “The Ringleader.” The greatest moment had to of been when vocalist, Benny Santoro began ripping fists full of hair out of his scalp. 1.., 2.., 3.., 4.., maybe 5 good yanks before he knelt down to audience level, takes a quick breath, then blows the hairball out of his hand between verses.
I was further impressed when I popped in their latest album, “Every Sick, Disgusting Thought We’ve Got In Our Brain,” and heard the same intense energy from start to finish. This is a truly talented band with outstanding vocals, incredibly clever lyrics and an over-the-top orchestra of sound that makes you feel like you’re caught in the middle of a carnival freak show that you don’t want to leave!
