FAILURES’ UNION Release LP and wrap up tour!

Buffalo’s FAILURES’ UNION Release ‘Tethering’ LP; European Tour Wrapping Up This Week

Buffalo, NY’s Failures’ Union have released their latest and third full-length titled, “Tethering” on Long Island based Dead Broke Rekerds.

“Tethering” was recorded at Goo Goo Dolls’ GCR Studio and mastered by Alan Douches (O’Brother, Rogue Wave) at West West Side.

Their sound is reminiscent of much of the great indie and alt-rock of the 1990’s, with hints of The Lemonheads, Dinosaur Jr, Guided by Voices and Superchunk layering their simple catchy songs.

Stream the LP in its entirety on New Noise and on Bandcamp.

About Failures’ Union:

In early 2004 Failures’ Union came together in Buffalo, NY. They quickly self-released a 3-song demo CD-R and that same year they were picked up by Art of the Underground to put out the “You Know Who” EP and became a part of the Art of the Underground Single Series. However, it wasn’t until 2007 when the band solidified their lineup and wrote/recorded their first full-length Sinker (One Percent Press) that they really started making waves. Their sound is reminiscent of much of the great indie and alt-rock of the 1990’s, with hints of The Lemonheads, Dinosaur Jr, Guided by Voices and Superchunk layering their simple catchy songs. In late 2008, Failures’ Union came to the attention of Paper + Plastick owner Vinnie Fiorello and first contact with the band was made. Shortly after, a new full length was written, drums and bass were recorded at Audio Magic and Tony banged out the rest of the record on his own in a practice space. The album then made its way to the Goo Goo Dolls studio where some final mixing took place and Angie Hart from 90’s band Frente! sang on 2 of the songs. Mastering was handled by Alan Douches at West West Side and all of a sudden a new album titled “In What Way” was made. Despite obligations to other bands (members were also in Lemuria, The Exit Strategy and The Grail), Failures’ Union have still managed to tour rather regularly. In the end, Failures’ Union are a band that are doing things for all the right reasons and steering clear of trends. They are playing a style of music they grew up on and that they never stopped loving. They have just released their newest and third full-length album, “Tethering” on Long Island based, Dead Broke Rekerds.
