Texas metalcore band Fit For A King’s forthcoming album, appropriately titled Dark Skies, explores the painful aspects of life with such a brutal honesty that it immediately grabs your attention. Fans have greeted the first few singles from the upcoming album with nothing but enthusiasm, as evidenced by their show in Orlando, Florida this weekend. Kicking off with “Tower of Pain,” the band instigated fist pumping, crowd surfing, and a furious circle pit — none of which let up throughout the twelve song set. The audience screamed vocalist Ryan Kirby’s lyrics back at him, forming solidarity against life’s painful experiences and the mental torment they create. The members of Fit For A King have described their music as a “battle cry against the darkness,” and their live performances create exactly that.
Dark Skies is set for release on September 14th via Solid State Records. Digital pre-orders are available through iTunes, with merch bundles and physical copies of the album available on MerchNow.
If you missed the band this time around, you can catch them supporting The Devil Wears Prada this fall. Grab your tickets HERE.
