San Diego, CA | June 2, 2014 – Today San Diego’s up-and-coming pop duo, Fourth & Coast, have unveiled their brand new single, “Young Hearts”, exclusively on Buzznet! The song was produced by Colby Wedgeworth (The Maine, This Century, Lydia) and features guest vocals from platinum selling artist The Ready Set! The song drops just in time for the twosome to start making waves across the US and Canada, as they hit the road as support for The X Factor’s Jennel Garcia. When asked about the inspiration behind “Young Hearts”, the fellas explained, “Young Hearts is about young love. It’s about the start of a relationship where everything is fresh and new and all you want to do is be with that someone, even if that someone might not be the best for you. There is a line that says “better you be the jaws than a natural cause”, which means ‘better you be the death of me than anything else because you’re worth it.’ So in the end, you’re taking a chance at young love with this person and you are both all for it.” Listen to “Young Hearts” ft. About Fourth & Coast: Fourth & Coast is a pop duo hailing from “America’s Finest City,” San Diego, CA. The twosome consists of longtime friends Stephen Ordoñez and James Colla, who met during a game of pick-up basketball in the 7thgrade. After high school they started creating music together, fusing their love of pop and indie music, yielding a powerful pop sound that’s undeniably catchy. “Being able to create is what I love most about being a musician,” says Ordoñez. “Being able to express what I feel through music and knowing that other people can connect with our songs.”
The duo released several demos over the course of 2012. They soon released their debut EP, Feels Like Summer, produced by Colby Wedgeworth (The Maine, Lydia, This Century), in May 2013. The rest of 2013 was spent on the road; they toured the US five times, performing, writing, and growing their fan base. They have toured with and opened for acts like Hollywood Ending, Paradise Fears, and Before You Exit, playing sold out shows at The Roxy, Chain Reaction, and Gramercy Theater, among others. Fourth & Coast have sold over 15,000 singles digitally and accumulated over 150,000 Spotify streams. Some of their most popular songs to date include the recent “Yours to Create” (Yours to Create Single), “Ain’t Got a Care in the World” (Feels Like Summer EP), and “Hopeless Romantic” (Hopeless Romantic Single). The latter two of these songs were featured on Hollister’s in store playlist in 2013, with over six months of combined store-play. Their newest single “Young Hearts” features guest vocals from The Ready Set, singer of Top 40 single“Love Like Woe.” The song is slated for release in early June 2014 followed by a tour performing as direct support for Jennel Garcia of the X Factor.
