Australian multi-instrumentalist & producer Fractures has just debuted this rather startling video for new track ‘It’s Alright’. The new clip marries Fractures’ languorous, multi-tracked vocals to a short film exploring the Ukrainian ‘Ghost Town’ Pripyat, abandoned ever since the Chernobyl Disaster of 1986. Tracing a fictional character’s movements through a deserted school, his attempts to revive memories of former lives mirror Fractures’ bruised electronica to emotive effect:
Fractures- the alias under which Melbourne resident Mark Zito releases slowburn leftfield RnB- has picked up fans to date including Chet Faker and Gotye, and accrued Soundcloud plays in excess of half a million for Hype Machine-topping single releases ‘Cadence’ and ‘Twisted’, both taken from the new Fractures EP. There’s upcoming live shows this Autumn, including CMJ, Los Angeles’ Culture Collide & London Sebright Arms (October 30), alongside Amsterdam’s London Calling Festival (with the likes of Cloud Nothings, Shura, Phantogram and The Amazing Snakeheads).
