The Force Of Nature Tour kicked off in Orlando last Friday night in celebration of the latest Marianas Trench album. Due to illness, the first handful of dates were postponed and fans in Disney Springs were unexpectedly treated to live debuts of many hits that Haven has to offer. The band’s sixth full-length album is arguably the most versatile to date, including everything from sweeping orchestral breaks, a healthy dose of synth, and of course catchy heavy rock riffs. Tying it all together is frontman Josh Ramsay’s phenomenal vocal range, supported by Matt Webb (lead guitar, backing vocals), Mike Ayley (bass, backing vocals), and Ian Casselman (drums, backing vocals).
Based on the literary work of Joseph Campbell entitled The Hero’s Journey, the recently released album explores themes of battling insecurity and finding a sense of belonging, thus relating to listeners in a beautiful way.
After the lights in the venue dimmed and the stereo amped up the crowd with AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck,” the Canadian group began their set with the first three tracks of their latest effort; “A Normal Life,” “Lightning and Thunder,” and “I’m Not Getting Better.”
The remainder of the set included fan favorites such as “Rhythm Of Your Heart” and “Here’s To The Zeroes” with fans singing along and dancing throughout the night. The evening concluded with perhaps their most complex and intriguing track, “Haven,” exceeding eight minutes and showcasing the best the band has to offer.
The Force Of Nature Tour continues through December and all dates can be found below!
