HIT THE LIGHTS TO RELEASE FOURTH ALBUM ON MARCH 24TH

January 15, 2015 – Los Angeles, CA – Beloved pop-punk band Hit The Lights will release their fourth album, Summer Bones, on March 24th with Pure Noise Records. The band has released a lyric video today for their infectious new single, “F*cked Up Kids,” today with AltPress.com.

“”F*cked Up Kids” is inspired by the fear older generations tend to have of a younger generation that they can’t understand or relate to,” explains vocalist Nick Thompson. “That same younger generation recycles that fear onto the next and causes these ideological rifts between us. We end up with this weird tug-of-war with each generation claiming the world as their own. In the end, we’re more alike than we know. We’re all trying to hide our fears, doubts and problems. We’re all trying to find a place in a world that’s always changing and we should find solace in the fact that we’re all fucked in some way and it’s ok. I feel that people who realize this can find personal freedom in that truth, and comfort in the fact that they aren’t alone, no matter what it seems. It’s dedicated to Rochester, New York for all the great times and amazing people it’s given us.”
Hit The Lights’ follow-up to their 2012 release Invicta, is one of their hardest yet poppiest records they’ve ever written. After an experimental run with a major label on their last record, the band’s destiny is entirely in their hands, which gives them the freedom to write the record fans have been waiting on for the last three years.
“Summer Bones is the most self aware record Hit The Lights has made to date,” adds Thompson. “We took what we feel we do best and pushed ourselves to take it further. We’ve never had a record that sounds the same and Summer Bones is no different. It stands on it’s own, in our discography, it has it’s own personality and is the most heavy, poppy, riffy Hit The Lights record to date. It’s everyone in the band at their best.”
The band will be taking their record on the road this spring with initial dates in the UK with the Pure Noise Tour (featuring Four Year Strong, Forever Came Calling and Light You Up).
