“They show great promise indeed with this excellent take on melodic post-rock fusion. Their vocals and instrumentals put them somewhere in the ballpark of Failure, A Perfect Circle and early Oceansize” – Prog Magazine
“A gluttonous heap of interlinking guitar lines and evocative vocals, think And So I Watch You From Afar meets Queens of The Stone Age with an obvious mainstream bent” – ManGoneBlog
Finding themselves out on a limb in the city of Liverpool – not known for its kindness to alternative rock bands – Pocket Apocalypse are turning their differences into their strengths as they artfully interweave post-rock, math-rock and progressive influences into an anthemic sound that often defies expectation.
Already drawing early comparisons with the likes of Oceansize, Arcane Roots, ASIWYFA and Queens Of The Stone Age, their individuality on the local scene has helped them to secure a host of support slots with the likes of MinionTV, This Town Needs Guns, Cleft, Victor Villarreal, God Damn, Fatherson and many more. The band have also played sets at Liverpool Sound City, Newpath Festival and Fringe Festivals with several more already lined up for 2015.
‘The Missing Piece’ is the first taster from the band’s forthcoming debut album ‘Under Our Sky’ – watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?

As a single, it’s the perfect introduction to their genre-spanning style, showcasing their flitting and proficient instrumentation alongside stadium-ready choruses with soaring melodies. Twinkling guitars and rounded bass tones explode into dynamic, towering guitar riffs and rhythmic soundscapes that melt and mesh subtly, already catching the eye of Prog Magazine who hailed it as an “excellent take on melodic post-rock fusion”.
