NYC’s rock n’ roll revivalists Jeremy & the Harlequins released their provocative music video for the single “You’re My Halo” earlier this month exclusively at PopMatters.com. The video features the stunning Martina Markota – otherwise known as Lady Alchemy – dancing seductively to a classic & raw performance from the band, and was directed by Ellen Frances at Orb Pictures in New York. PopMatters raves, “the New York City rockers of Jeremy & the Harlequins take those idyllic archetypes of American life and give them a devilish twist.” Vocalist Jeremy Fury goes on to say, “It’s the underbelly of classic, feel good, Americana; as if 50s nostalgia skipped the drive-in and plunged head first into the Dungeon.”
Jeremy & the Harlequins released their whimsical, analog new album American Dreamer in February, which was written & recorded in less than a week’s time. The band will perform at Rough Trade in Brooklyn on March 19th, and will head to the UK for three dates with Planes (featuring Steve Forrest, formerly of Placebo) starting on April 14th.
