Up-and-coming bands Arrows In Action and Honey Revenge took The Orpheum by storm in their first of two Florida dates on The Built To Last Tour.
Honey Revenge are a band you don’t want to miss. With high kicks flying left and right from vocalist Devin Papadol and the tangible chemistry between guitarist Donny Lloyd and touring bassist Tay, they maximized their use of the stage, and, quite frankly, deserve to be playing on a bigger one. Devin’s powerful vocals and connection with the crowd owe to that as well, even getting fans to start a conga line during “Favorite Song.” Despite a broken string right at the start of the final song, Donny played on with a smile, displaying musicianship beyond their young age of just 21 years. This is a band you’ll want to catch in these intimate shows before they blow up, so the next time Honey Revenge rolls through town, you definitely don’t want to miss them.
Arrows In Action received a warm welcome back to their home state from a crowd chanting, “Arrows! Arrows! Arrows!” before Victor Viramontes-Pattison (lead vocals/guitar), Matt Fowler (guitar/backup vocals), or Jesse Frimmel (drums, backup vocals) took a single step on stage. The fans’ love for the band was more than apparent as they sang each and every song at the top of their lungs, from the first song Arrows ever put out, to songs off the touring album released in May. With class act harmonizing, infectious energy, and entertaining on-stage banter, the boys in Arrows In Action are destined to make it big.
Both Honey Revenge and Arrows In Action are promoting new albums; Retrovision, the former’s debut album, and Built To Last, the latter’s sophomore album. Be sure to give them each a listen, as well as the new single, “Changing,” by Finish Ticket, who were unable to play due to van issues.
