DEC 19 – Albany, NY’s Northern Faces is now premiering “Wait Wait Wait” – the lead single from their forthcoming self-titled full-length – on KickKickSnare.com! The song will also air on KX 93.5 FM tonight on Grant Owens’ We Found New Music show, during the 9pm PST hour.
Northern Faces’ new album will be released in early 2015 via Equal Vision Records and will be the follow-up to their impressive debut EP Southern Places, which was released in March 2013. “Wait Wait Wait” has already seen early radio support from the likes of WEQX, WRFF, WFUZ, WHSN, RadioBDC, WLZX, WEMF and more, with stations continuously adding the song into rotation.
“Wait Wait Wait” was one of those songs that came together very quickly. Marco [Testa] and I were at his place having a few drinks, playing guitar and showing each other some song parts we had been working on for the new record,” shares co-vocalist/guitarist Bryan Shortell. “He started singing the verse to the song, which is all he had at the time. When he got to the end of the verse, the chorus came to me on the spot, and I just started singing it. We brought the song to the band and it came to life right away. The songs that come out of nowhere always seem to feel the best and most honest to us. If we have to work too hard at a song – if we have to force it, usually the song ends up in the trash. It’s the songs that come out of nowhere, the songs that almost feel like gifts – those are the ones that usually end up being the songs that hit us the hardest.”
Northern Faces formed in early 2012 and is comprised of Bryan Shortell (vocals and guitar), Marco Testa (vocals and guitar), Matt Ippolito (bass), and Mike Ryan (drums). The band’s debut show was an opening slot for The Kooks and Royal Teeth in early 2012; And have since toured and shared stages with likes of The 1975, Say Anything, RX Bandits, Electric Guest, Civil Twilight, Futurebirds, Frank Iero, Heartless Bastards and more, and performed at SXSW and CMJ Festivals.
The band will next perform at a headlining show in Albany, NY on December 31, presented by WEQX 102.7, followed by one-off shows in New York City – first with CRUISR on January 14 and then with The Black Cadillacs on January 15.
