SAVIOURS: Oakland-Based Metal Goliaths Undrape Blue Öyster Cult Cover Featuring Scott “Wino” Weinrich On Vocals Via Decibel Flexi Series; Track Stream Available

Oakland, California-based metal goliaths and recent Listenable signees, SAVIOURS, have concluded their four-year absence with a bang, tackling Blue Öyster Cult’s classic “Hot Rails To Hell” for the September 2015 edition of Decibel Magazine’s Flexi Series. Produced by the ubiquitous Billy Anderson (Neurosis, Zoroaster, Eyehategod, Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth, Ommadon etc.), the track features living legend, Scott “Wino” Weinrich (Saint Vitus, The Obsessed, Spirit Caravan et al) at the mic as well as Chris Grande (Lecherous Gaze, Annihilation Time) on bass and Erika Osterhout (Scolex, Femacoffin) on tambourine.

Elaborates SAVIOURS drummer, Scott Batiste, of their rendition of the tune: “When we did the Saint Vitus shows in 2009, we got to talking to Wino about our shared love for Blue Öyster Cult and one thing led to another… The recording was done almost five years ago! Shrinebuilder was coming through Oakland on tour so we set up the time at Sharkbite Studios with Billy [Anderson]. We did it in a day. He’s played it with us live a few times. The recording rules and his solo is totally insane.”

A limited number of issues which include the flexi (silver-on-green plastic) are currently available for purchase HERE but hurry!

With four full-lengths and seven EPs to their name and having played in an astounding twenty-one countries, SAVIOURS continues to forge ahead with their towering riffs, colossal rhythms, infectious guitar harmonies and an obsession with the end of times, the occult, psychedelics and the arcane. Still building upon the foundation that Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Thin Lizzy and Motörhead laid, SAVIOURS opens a new chapter in their winding career with a partnership with French label Listenable Records who will release the band’s new album, Palace Of Vision, this October.

Further SAVIOURS news updates to be transmitted in the weeks to come. Stand by.

“A dual-guitar riff-fest inspired by NWOBHM and ’70s proto-doom.” -Revolver

“You know you’re playing a good set when your music not only commands the attention of the likes of J Mascis and Matt Pike, but you’re sounding so tight that it compels the two guitar greats to air shred like a couple of Maiden fans circa 1980.” – Decibel
