Pennsylvania rockers, Seeking Valor, premiered their brand new video, “So Far Gone,” exclusively on Artist Direct, today. The goal of the video, apart from creating powerful music, is to raise awareness regarding suicide prevention. The video is a touching commentary on the space left when a loved one takes his or her own life, and how friends and family must work together to move forward.
“So Far Gone” is the debut single off the bands upcoming album, 7 of Diamonds, set for release in the fall of 2014. Seeking Valor, made up of Drew Feehery (vocals), Frank Gannon (guitar), John Colberg (bass), Brian Fritz (lead guitar), Mike Birchard (drums) and featuring Courtney Jansen (vocals), was formed by Frank Gannon back in 2012 shortly after losing a longtime friend, Gary Diamond, to suicide and depression. The album is a tribute to Gary and was a way for Gannon and other members of the band to cope with their loss. “Not only are we getting our music out there… we are also trying to raise awareness for Suicide Prevention in the same breath,” Gannon stated about the motivation behind the album.
7 of Diamonds was produced and engineered by Mike Birchard of Mikey B. Media over the last few years. As producers of the record, Gannon and Birchard were present at every recording session. The other band members recorded each track, one instrument at a time, and were rarely ever in the same room. In fact, almost all of the lead guitar recordings were engineered and performed by Brian Fritz in his own studio while living on the west coast. A portion of the proceeds from record sales will be donated to the American Foundation For Suicide Prevention.
Now with the debut of “So Far Gone,” Seeking Valor is ready to continue to help raising awareness for suicide prevention through the power of music. Lead singer Drew Feehery stated, “The song ‘So Far Gone’ expresses one of the core concepts of the 7 of Diamonds album. It values a friend and loved one. The idea that any experience, memory, or impact that was shared, now becomes a part of you forever.”
