OCT 14 – Tampa, FL-based pop outfit Set It Off is premiering their new music video for lead single “Why Worry” today via FUSE! The video was filmed in New York City with director Rob Soucy (Azealia Banks, Alkaline Trio) and can be seen HERE.
Set It Off‘s new high-energy sophomore full-length, Duality, is also out today and available digitally through iTunes, AmazonMP3, Google Play and more and at physical retailers such as Best Buy, FYE, Newbury Comics, MerchNOW and more.
“We actually started creating the concept for the “Why Worry” video while we were still in the studio,” reveals vocalist Cody Carson. “This song very much embodies duality in the actual characteristics of the music itself, and knowing that this was going to be the first single and that the album is called Duality, we wanted to really drive that point home. So that explains the “Good Cody” and “Bad Cody”, the light side of the crowd and the dark side of the crowd, as well as the contrasting moods in the verses and choruses. Also, pay attention to the hand motions in the chorus on the words ‘why, why worry at all’ (we made our own NSYNC-esque choreographed move) and also the hand symbol we create at the beginning and end of the video…I present to you the duality diamond hand symbol, when I throw it up it shows, I want to see you do it right back!”
Set It Off will head out on a mini tour of in-store events in Orlando, Alpharetta, Woodbridge and Long Island, just before the start of the Black Mass Tour where they will be performing alongside Black Veil Brides and Falling In Reverse. The massive full US tour will kick off onOctober 21 in Niagara Falls. All upcoming tour dates can be found below.
Early reviews from Big Cheese Magazine and Alternative Press rave on the band’s lead single “Why Worry” respectively noting that the song “will have Fall Out Boy quaking in their boots” and that it’s “one of the best pop songs you’ll hear all year.” Music Connection similarly boasts that Duality is “not only a shining moment in their career, but a shiny piece of pop perfection,” while Kerrang! awarded the album a perfect score of 5 out of 5 and declared that “Set It Off have created their own sub-genre in an oversubscribed pop-rock scene and absolutely nailed it.” Substream Music Press too vouches that it’s sure to please both “longtime fans of the band, as well as pull in an overwhelming flock of newcomers to boot,” as Rock Sound ensures: “Every song here is precisely constructed and delivered with nothing but the purest showmanship. A late contender for Album Of The Year? Absolutely.”
