“a genre-expanding work… loud rock that pushes boundaries.” – Verbicide
Alarm-Magazine.com has premiered a brand new music video for Silver Snakes’ “Grey Wolf Wild” today. This song was inspired by Silver Snakes’ guitarist/vocalist Alex Estrada’s affinity for wolves; Estrada has been known to volunteer at local wolf sanctuaries in California and in 2012 “…met a wolf named Segoni. He was 16 years old at the time and living at a sanctuary called Wolf Mountain in Lucerne Valley, CA. I sat down beside him, and although he was the most gentle animal I had ever met, I still felt completely powerless in his presence. It was as though he could see right through me and my problems. That interaction left a mark on me and inspired far more than just this one song. The room is the stage, the lights are the thoughts. We just do what we do.”
“Grey Wolf Wild” appears on Silver Snakes’ new album, Year of the Snake, which is available now from Bridge Nine Records. The album is 11 songs of the band’s darkest and most dynamic material yet, and was recorded at Silver Snakes’ own Estrada’s studio The Earth Capital (Nails, Touche Amore, Joyce Manor). Year Of The Snake was then mixed at Salad Days Studios with Brian McTernan (Cave In, Engine Down, Circa Survive) and mastered by Jay Maas at Getaway Recording (Defeater).
