Turin, Italy’s instrumental rock trio, STEARICA, has released their first official video, created for the poignant movement, “Delta,” as the newest single to be released from the band’s upcoming FertileLP.
Fusing a concept by Gabriele Ottino and STEARICA, directed and edited by Gabriele Ottino and produced by Superbudda, Vice Magazine’s Noisey channel has premiered “Delta” through several international portals alongside a detailed interview with the band’s Francesco Carlucci, which digs heavily into the creation of the video, as well as their intense new album, which features guest contributions from the likes of Colin Stetson (Tom Waits, Arcade Fire, Bon Iver), Scott McCloud (Girls Against Boys) and Ryan Patterson (Coliseum), and was heavily inspired by the squares of the Arab Spring and Barcelona’s Indignants, The “Delta” video describes the path (metaphorical and real at the same time) of a man in search of his heart in which he will meet parts of his memory censored by pixels. Fertility, rebirth and ascension are the central elements of the journey of rapprochement of a man, with his face painted red, to his heart therefore to life.

Additional singles from Fertile have also been released, including “Shāh Māt” featuring Colin Stetson at Clash Magazine RIGHT HERE, and “Halite” through The Obelisk at THIS LOCATION.
Both the concept of “fertile” as “life-giving” and the revolutionary impulses of the Arab Spring and the Indignants protests in Barcelona inspired STEARICA‘s sprawling sophomore LP, Fertile, recorded at Blu Room, Chivasso, Cavoretto Hills, Cavoretto and Wave Life, Torino, by Daniele Mattiuzzi and Francesco Carlucci and produced by Carlucci, after which it was mixed by Daniele Mattiuzzi and Carlucci at Wave Life, and mastered by Michael Fossenkemper at Turtle Tone Studios, New York City. Corralling the primordial nature of the trio’s dynamic live performances — at times brutal, chaotic, mysterious, tranquil — Fertile is music born of our time: instinctively revolutionary.
UK-based Monotreme Records will release Fertile worldwide on April 13th, on CD, digital download, and a deluxe 180-gram 2xLP double-gatefold edition of 500 copies which include a poster and CD — 300 copies on red and black vinyl and 200 copies on black.
