(Atlanta, GA) – Five-piece “Theatre Rock” band The Funeral Portrait has announced a new tour with Vanity Strikes. The 15 date tour will be the group’s first one of the New Year and starts in Spartanburg, SC on 1/22. “We have been itching to get back out on the road!” says vocalist Lee Jennings. “We also will be playing some new cities this run, so that is always exciting meeting new friends along the way.“ The Funeral Portrait signed to Revival Recordings (owned by Shawn Milke ofAlesana) earlier this year after recording For The Dearly Departed at Adelaide Recording Studios in Raleigh, NC. The six-song EP was produced by Milke and engineered/mixed by Neil Engle and is available on iTunes. |
ABOUT THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT The Funeral Portrait is a five-piece pop-rock outfit hailing from Atlanta, Georgia. Consisting of vocalist Lee Jennings, guitarist/vocalist Juergie Landstrom, guitarist AJ Pekarek, bassist Chris King, and drummer Stephen Danzey, the band blends elements of rock and roll, heavy metal, and theatre all under a blanket of pop sensibility as they paint their stories of love, loss, anger, and grief onto a canvas of skillfully crafted songs. Having shared the stage with We Came As Romans, Silverstein, Dance Gavin Dance, Alesana and Cartel, The Funeral Portrait released their debut EP For The Dearly Departed, produced by Shawn Milke on September 23rd. For The Dearly Departed is available via Revival Recordings, the band having inked a deal this past summer with the Raleigh, NC based record label. |
