HUDSON VALLEY, NY // – New York’s THE GRAPE AND THE GRAIN have teamed up with SwitchBitch Noise to host a pre-release stream of their acoustic At Home EP. The EP is available for purchase via their Bandcamp page [HERE]. Featuring songs off their self-titled album released last year, the band discovered their blues-infused hard rock sound mellowed perfectly to rich, smooth and deep acoustic renditions. Multiple tracks were premiered online earlier this spring, including “If God Is Love” on Altsounds; “Burnt By the Sun” on Under the Gun and “The Hudson” on New Noise Magazine. Compiled into one piece, the EP also features an unheard cover of “The Devil and the DEA”. Recorded in makeshift home studios, the EP reflects the non-stop passion and DIY work-ethic of the band. The project began after recording “If God Is Love” acoustically, explained Daniel Grimsland. “We had so much fun recording that track and experimenting with reinterpreting a song, it inspired us to keep going with it. It was great fun but also challenging for us as songwriters. I enjoyed the process very much, and I hope the band will do more things like this in the future.” Last month, they released limited edition vinyl copies of their full-length album The Grape And the Grain with hand-printed sleeves. Extremely limited stock of the vinyl is still available through Bandcamp and will not be re-pressed. The Grape And The Grain will be playing a June 12th official showcase at Brooklyn’s Northside Festival, alongside Newborn, War Games and The Courtesy Tear (and more). Organized by Behind The Curtains Media and Rocker Stalker, the full-day showcase will feature seven bands at Bar Matchless. Full event details and line-up can be found here. At Home is available for purchase on Bandcamp now! ### Biography: THE GRAPE AND THE GRAIN began in 2012 as a solo project for Daniel Grimsland (bassist for Woodstock, NY’s progressive rock band ’3′). Seeking to challenge himself, Grimsland wrote, produced and performed the entirety of his debut album “Better Keep Digging”. Shortly after its release, he recognized a need for musicians and collaborators in order to advance. He called on longtime friends, Jacob Kolbinski (Guitar) and Josiah Smith (Bass) both members of Ghost Among The Dead, The Ricochet, and The Ciggs and David Kolbinski (Drums) of The Daydreamers, to join him in his project. Steven Markota (multi-instrumentalist) of Nightmares For A Week later joined in support. The Grape And the Grain has quickly grown from a “side-project” band to it’s own rock-solid establishment with a core following. In 2015 Jacob and David parted ways with the band to pursue other interests, and the band reformed with Steven Markota (Drums), Daniel Marc (Guitar), and Mo Kelly (Bass).
