About The North:
The North is a post-melodic hardcore band centered in Virginia Beach, VA but has roots planted all over the country. Forming in late 2012, the quintet is comprised of Justin Pyles (vocals), Dan Interrante (bass/vocals/samples), Noel “Napoleon” Brown (rhythm guitar/ vocals), Mike Christensen (drums), and Robby Latalladi (lead guitar). Members hail from Massachusetts, Illinois, California, Ohio, and Virginia allowing The North to capture the essential sounds of their hometowns and put together a montage of influence. With this approach, they were able to cultivate a versatile sound that can please nearly every musical palate.
During the writing and recording of their debut EP, ‘Tradewinds’, The North became more than just another band. Over the past year they have all experienced a multitude of personal issues, both collectively and individually, that transformed these five friends into a family. Through all the strife, this band has managed to come out stronger and more resilient than ever. The bands musical inspiration comes from going through these real experiences, good and bad. Their lyrics and lifestyle showcase true compassion and through their music, they ask people to question and define themselves. Who are you? Where do you want to be?
In their short time together The North has garnered a loyal following and impressive career accolades, sharing the stage with noteworthy acts such as Norma Jean, La Dispute, Touche Amore, Underoath, Comeback Kid, and many more. They even tapped Jerry Roush (Glass Cloud, ex-Of Mice & Men) for guest vocals on their first single, “Upon Waking Up”. The North’s debut EP, ‘Tradewinds’, was produced and mixed by Chris Baldwin (The Process Recording) and is expected to drop in early 2014.
