Los Angeles, California | July 4, 2015 – Third String Records, Founded by Mike Ziemer, is proud to welcome Pop-Punk artist, Mariner, who steamed off of the demise of several Bay Area hardcore bands. At an early age, the band was exposed to heavy hitters such as Set Your Goals, This Time Next Year, and The Story So Far which crafted their sound. Upon entering the NuTone Studios where the likes of Stickup Kid, WorthWhile, and The Story So Far recorded, Mariner knew they wanted to incorporate their hardcore roots into their pop-punk ways. For a band that has only been in existence for a year, Mariner has taken to touring almost immediately and couldn’t be more excited to be on Third String Records. Mariner had this to add,
“We had the idea for Mariner years ago back when we were all still in hardcore bands, so thoughwe just started playing shows last year it’s been a long time coming. Zach from Strawberry Girls actually first got Mike’s attention for us, and once Mike told us about Third String Records we knew it would be a great fit.”
The band is set to debut their EP on August 4, 2015, entitled In Ways I Can’t Explain featuring their single “Headlocked” which can be listened to here. Fans can also catch Mariner out on the road for their official album release tour which kicks off August 4th in San Jose, CA at The Rock Shop and makes its way up and down the west coast hitting Sacramento, Eugene, and Seattle to name a few.
