2018 has been an incredibly busy year so far for Tampa Bay post-hardcore band LIMBS. Back in February, they toured with Great American Ghost. April brought the release of their first full-length album, just in time for them to hit the road again with Underoath, Dance Gavin Dance, and Veil Of Maya. Coming up in August, you can find them playing a few dates on the final Vans Warped Tour. Needless to say, the future is bright for LIMBS. The guys were nice enough to take time out of their busy schedule to share a selection of their favorite songs to listen to while on tour. Check it out below, and be sure to give Father’s Son a listen if you haven’t done so already!
Jim James – “Here In Spirit”
“Just a great feel good/chill jam. Groovy with laid back production. The entire album this is on is great.” – Chris
Atoms For Peace – “Default”
“Always gonna be a fan of anything Thom Yorke. The mood he creates with his music is a big factor for me. It was helpful with writing lyrics while on this last tour.” – Chris
Nine Inch Nails – “God Break Down the Door”
“The new Nine Inch Nails single Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross just released is insane. Trent Reznor still carries that punk mentality of “I’ll write whatever I want” and it shows through his music on every NIN record he’s ever put out. Huge influence and inspiration.” – Daniel
Vince Staples – “745”
“This whole record slaps. Everything about it. Big Fish Theory is a great record and has been in heavy rotation for me since I first discovered it not too long ago. Vince Staples just brought such a different vibe to rap on this record that I have yet to see from any other rappers in my opinion.” – Daniel
Fleet Foxes – “English House”
“I don’t write music like this at all, even though I wish I could. But I love listening to Fleet Foxes while on the road. It just reminds me of home and you can really just chill and drive with any of their songs on and I love that. Definitely one of my favorite bands.” – Josh
Every Time I Die – “Glitches”
“This. Record. Kills. Seriously, every single song is the best and this song especially just slays. So gritty. The punk beat, weird vocal flows and riffs are so sick. Definitely a necessity for long drives.” – Josh
J. Cole – “Power Trip” (feat. Miguel)
“To be truthful, any track from the record this song is on could qualify for “frequently played” on tour. J. Cole, personally, is one of my favorite current rappers.” – Jordan
Bon Iver – “666 ʇ”
“Anyone who says Bon Iver’s music isn’t great music to drive to, more than likely, hasn’t ever tried. Justin Vernon is a great musician, and any of his work deserves an honest listen.” – Jordan
Night Riots – “Back To Your Love”
“I chose this song, mainly due to it being the greatest song ever written. Ever. It reminds me of a 80s pop dance song, mixed with a nice touch of weird “The Cure” gothy feel. I can jam this tune relentlessly on eight hour drives and not get sick of it. Listen to them. Do it.” – Tyler
Don Henley – “Boys of Summer”
“Because there was a dead head sticker on a Cadillac.” – Tyler
