Vanna is taking “#throwback” to new heights with their most recent EP, “ALT.” The EP is a collection of covers from fundamental rock and metal bands including Marliyn Manson, The Offspring, The Smashing Pumpkins, Korn, and Metallica.
The first single and video released from the EP was their pristine version of Manson’s “Beautiful People.”
Vanna officially released the EP on October 2 via Pure Noise Records and they will be doing a short supporting tour this fall.
With “ALT,” these guys found a way to take music that influenced so many people in the genre and not only do it due justice, but also make it quintessentially Vanna. In reality, an album covering such well-known songs could have gone very badly, but they found a way to make a bold and exciting EP which bridges the generational gap by taking the old and making it new once more.
Overall, “ALT” is a true masterpiece, showing the band’s adaptability and pure skill, while giving its’ listeners a large serving of nostalgia with a side of headbanging. If you haven’t already, you absolutely need to get your hands on this record!
