VIDEO REVIEW: WHITE MILES – Fake Smile

There are currently a ton of acts, both national and local, that call themselves “Rock and Roll” and, mostly, fall under the revival rock movement of the early 2000’s.  WHITE MILES packs a heavy punch from the past with a new video that oozes cool.  Fake Smile, off of their latest record Job, Genius, Diagnose: Madness, brings back some of the feelings evoked by grunge/punk/riot grrrl acts of the early 90s.  Fake Smile is a sort of cross between gasoline driven rock with the calculated coolness of Sonic Youth.  Fake Smile is definitely a sexual song, and the video reflects that but not in a way most would imagine.  Instead of scantily clad women baring all, WHITE MILES’ drummer showcases some impressive maneuvers with scenes of leather jackets, studded belts, and rusted cars from a bygone age.  It’s definitely a ride that you want to take and it leaves you wanting more and more from the duo.  I highly recommend that you check out this video and then make immediate moves to pick up the album, especially for fans of Courtney Love, Sonic Youth, and Arctic Monkeys.
