PROVO, UT | August 25, 2015 – Provo’s genre-bending rock band The CMDWN made their debut with their dark-R&B Neighbourhood-influenced hardcore vibe in their single “ This High” earlier this summer. Today, The CMDWN has teamed up with Crave Online for the exclusive video premiere of their debut single “ This High” (directed by Justin Kroger & Tyler Forrest). For the video, The CMDWN traveled to Los Angeles, explored their setting for the shoot, and pulled together all the equipment and props to create a concept on the spot to add more of the dark, longing, and energetic vibe “ This High” presents musically. The video shows a more personal side of the song’s theme, expressing obsession and ignoring the future, or it’s consequences. About The CMDWN The CMDWN is a new band formed by members of the noteworthy act from the Provo, UT music scene Sea Swallowed Us Whole. With a solid line up of five ambitious musicians devoted to artistic creativity, the band delivers solid live performances and a progressive, emotionally drenched genre-bending sound. The CMDWN is an innovative group that blends hardcore/metal influence with electronic stylings and a dark R&B atmosphere, reminiscent of The Weeknd or The Neighbourhood. In 2013, drummer Tyler Ruiz came together with bassist Andy Hale and guitarist Devin Dearden, forging the band’s driving, precise rhythmic section. As they were recording at High Vibe Recordings (The Used, Chelsea Grin), producer Stetson Whitworth introduced the band to vocalist Chris Gibbons, whose dulcet vocals and diverse musical influences were welcomed into The CMDWN’s vision, becoming a dynamic melodic force behind their sound. Early 2015 brought The CMDWN their fifth member, guitarist River Wilde. With his talented songwriting and versatile guitar experience, the band knew that this would be the permanent lineup to take The CMDWN in the musical direction they wanted.
