Weatherbox is premiering a never-before-released alternate version of their song, “They’re Ready For Us To Come Home.” on Noisey.
The track appears on Topshelf Records upcoming reissue of the band’s classic 2009 LP “The Cosmic Drama’ (vinyl/digital/CD) on September 18th. Pre-orders are now available here.
Singer/songwriter Brian Warren tells Noisey, “That song was always intended to be a full band song, and it was a conceptual idea to make it acoustic and super lo-fi. Almost like a meta statement about the band or lack of band being in that form. When we worked on the raw version originally, but with the musicians I was working with now we finally knocked it out.”
Originally released on Doghouse Records, ‘The Cosmic Drama’ reissue features fully remastered audio with bonus tracks.
The beloved San Diego indie rock outfit signed with Doghouse Records in 2006, where they went on to release an EP (‘The Clearing’) and two full length records, ‘American Art’ (2007) and ‘The Cosmic Drama’ (2009). The band is currently signed to Favorite Gentleman/Triple Crown Records. Their most recent LP, ‘Flies In All Directions’, was released in May 2014.
Over the years, the band, led by singer/songwriter Brian Warren, has toured with the likes of Say Anything, Cartel, The Front Bottoms and Bad Books.
