Wild Sun is not the kind of band to sit around and wait for an October release, however. Striking while the iron is hot, they partnered up with Vanyaland [LINK] to premiere their brand new Rigby EP, out today via American Laundromat Records! The band describes the new material as “noticeably louder” in closer reflection of their live show experience. In order to achieve this while recording, they used all of their live show gear, crammed the stacks of amps into a live room and turned them turned way up. Glenn explains the new production direction, “We tracked the songs with Mike Moschetto (bassist of Aviator), who has recorded several New England and touring hardcore and loud rock bands. We know we are an alternative rock band, but wanted to give these specific songs the heavy, loud treatment.” Glenn continues, “We had Bryce Goggin (known for work with Pavement, Phish, and Lemonheads), who produced and recorded our debut album, mix the tracks to tape, so that the release would fit our sound and style and not be too much of a 180. The result is two tracks that pick up where the debut album left off, but go in a bit of a different direction rather than a straight path.”

Behind the jokes is someone who was meant to play music.” Wild Sun’s strong local support won them a nomination as Motif Magazine’s 2014 “Breakthrough Act of the Year,” as their fresh and honest approach connects with fans and critics alike.
Wild Sun has a heavy show schedule for the spring, culminating with a performance at Northside Festival in Brooklyn this June [Details]. BIOGRAPHY: Wild Sun stands apart from the noise and imitation with their honest brand of energetic rock and roll. In a time when every channel is overloaded with the same old thing, Wild Sun is fresh and raw, and yet accessibly familiar. In less than two years together, the trio of alternative rockers have earned their stay as one of the most promising bands around. With their their debut album coined by Motif as “one of the Top Albums of 2015” alongside Wilco and Kendrick Lamar, frequent radio airplay, and a live show that breaks bar sales records, Wild Sun is armed for the front lines. Their debut EP, “Rigby EP,” is now available via all digital platforms.
There was a time where music was built on great songs, and undeniable passion. There was a time when live shows threw caution into the wind, and musicians improvised and simply made music. Those times are back, and Rhode Island’s Wild Sun are already at the party—cases cracked.
