FEB 03 – Today, Newport, RI’s Wind In Sails is premiering “Wild Child”, the second new song released from his forthcoming sophomore full-length Morning Light. The song can be heard now at Youtube.com/equalvision, along with the band’s recently released tracked, “Push and Shove”.
Wind In Sails is the solo project of Evan Pharmakis, who will release Morning Light on February 24 via Headphone Music, an Equal Vision Records imprint.
“‘Wild Child’ is another song I wrote for my fiancé,” shares Pharmakis. “It’s actually more or less the story of when I proposed to her. It touches on many things, like her childhood, a bit of my own insecurity thrown in. But ultimately it’s about my love for the only one I’ll ever need in my life.”
Album pre-orders are available now at windinsails.merchnow.com and iTunes, and come with an instant MP3 download of both “Wild Child” and “Push and Shove”.
Pharmakis also recently announced a short run of CD release shows in the northeast, with support from solo artist Ghost Thrower (Travis Alexander of Therefore I Am). Following the tour, Wind In Sails will next perform on the Radio Revival Tour wth Ryan Cabrera, Secondhand Serenade, Nick Thomas (of The Spill Canvas), and Runaway Saints. The full US tour will kick off on March 12 in Sacramento, CA. All upcoming tour dates can be found below, with several new dates recently added and more to be announced soon.
Wind In Sails has previously toured and shared stages with the likes of PVRIS, A Loss For Words, A Rocket to the Moon, mewithoutYou, Our Last Night, the Vans Warped Tour and more.
Morning Light was recorded at Apparition Sound Studios in Thompson, CT with producer Chris Curran. The 11-track album will serve as a follow-up to Brighter Days, an eight-song album released in October 2012 and the more recent Darker Nights EP (October 2013) – a raw, stripped down release touching on the loss of loved ones and betrayal of friendship, while still holding an underlying message of optimism. He elaborates, “No matter how horrible things can get, with a positive mentality there’s nothing we can’t push through. Things will always get better with time to heal.”
