The highly anticipated The Struggle EP by Massachusetts’ favorite rockers ZERO HOLDS has finally hit the streets today! With a hype building pre-release stream of the EP earlier this week via Absolute Punk and a jaw-dropping exclusive acoustic performance on Boston’s WEMF Radio last night, the boys are more than ready to get this in the hands of the public. Emotionally heavy and moving, the EP focuses around overcoming hard times and finding the fire and inspiration to fight on, even in the darkest of times.
“All we can do is remind ourselves and each other to follow our instincts and natural will rather then succumbing to outside and societal pressures,” they noted. “Everyone has obstacles in life they have to overcome but a lot of people feel alone with theirs that’s where people can relate with the EP.”
In addition to the full stream and radio performance, ZERO HOLDS has been building anticipation for the new album through multiple singles over the last month. “Shelter” premiered via Dying Scene last Friday, “Carry You” being streamed earlier on Mind Equals Blown, “Plunge” as the first single through New Noise Magazine, and an exclusive acoustic video performance of “Plunge” on Shout It Loud TV.
Formerly known as Roman Numeral Three, the group reformed and began fresh under a new identity with the strong minded concept of not holding back, having zero regrets, and giving it all despite risks. In sharing their new music, the band said, “Getting people to enjoy your music is rewarding but to bring a positive influence into their lives is even better. We need more of that in the world and ZERO HOLDS is all about it.”
The Struggle EP features five tracks, recorded with Jay Deluca of The Bears Den in Attleboro, MA. The release will be celebrated tonight with a show at The Met in Providence, RI alongside local heroes War Games, Brian Marquis (of Therefore I Am) and The Varsity Club. Details and tickets for the show can be found here. The boys will also be taking part in Behind The Curtains Media‘s CMJ showcases later this month (info). The Struggle EP is available via their Bandcamp along with all major digital retailers today.

Biography: ZERO HOLDS is a rock and roll band with grit. They formed amid the ashes of Massachusetts based band THE ROMAN NUMERAL THREE, a faux-acoustic/post-rock effort including Joe Touchette, Mike Rague, and John Thomas. By a certain stroke of chance, Tyler Leadbetter soon emerged gallantly from the lost village of Hanson Ma. to join the remaining three in making a new and slightly edgier style of music. Touchette seasons his lyrics with evident gloom and a hint of curiosity, Rague simmers them over ambient guitars like stove burner flames growing ever larger until the kitchen burns away from the house. Gifted throughout with a heart beat who’s will is nearly immortal, Leadbetter and Thomas know better than to overthink this disaster. The rhythm swells and the windy inferno of noise is tamed when four voices turn to one and lead the entire neighborhood in climactic chanting hymns that suppress the smoke and heat, breaking ground for an end with proper relief.
