Aug 5, 2016: When a young and up and coming musician finds himself with more words on his mind than he can possibly fathom, what does he do? For Bryan Howell, he turns them into heartfelt lyrics, epic guitar riffs, and drum beats that match the rhythm of your heart. All of these come together in his first full-length album ‘Take The Risk’ out today.

“‘Take The Risk’ started out as an album that was partly an outlet for artistic frustration,” shares Howell. “I didn’t feel just recording another EP would express the breadth of what I wanted to say musically. I could either stay in what had become a safe zone, which I found really frightening, or I could go all-in and pursue all of these creative ambitions and do the best thing I possibly could, even if it meant risking everything. I decided the only way to go was to be fearless and go for it, and I feel the result is an album full of both the most personal and exciting songs I have so far. “

When putting an album like ‘Take The Risk’ together, one has to be ready to take that first leap. Throughout the album, you can hear every ounce of the achingly gorgeous change-ups that turns each song into a different energetic street-poet rock ‘n roll hit.

Live shows are where Bryan and his backing band, The Standalones, really take flight. Howell’s tall and lean build, wind swept hair, rugged high tops, and cheshire-cat like grin commands the stage. His bandmates play alongside him creating an energy that electrifies the room, making it so you can’t help but dance along. The resulting sweat and passion creates a thrilling and unique show every night.

Howell is dedicated to maintaining his craft, artistic integrity, and his devotion to providing every audience with  the showmanship and musicianship that he believes that they deserve. “Music should give you a great time, singing along and dancing, and hopefully a bit more out of it too, a spiritual or emotional refill if you will,” he explains. “Some people might mock me for saying that. That’s fine. I’m not going to stop playing as hard as I can because of them.”

Take The Risk, indeed.
