I THE MIGHTY ADDED AS SUPPORT ON ENTER SHIKARI TOUR; IN THE STUDIO NOW WITH MIKE GREEN

JAN 22 – I the Mighty has just been announced as the newly added opener on the entirety of Enter Shikari’s Spring headline tour with support from Stray From The Path and A Lot Like Birds. Hundredth will also perform on select dates.

Vocalist Brent Walsh shares, “We’ve been big fans of Enter Shikari, ever since we saw them play nearly three years ago at South By So What Festival in Texas. Their originality was inspiring and the political nature of their lyrics really resonated with us. We’re very excited for all the energy that these shows are sure to create!”

I the Mighty is currently in the studio with producer Mike Green (Paramore, Pierce The Veil, All Time Low), recording their highly anticipated sophomore full-length, which will be released later this year.

“We’re having a great time making the new record with Mike Green! It’s been a very different process than any prior recording experience we’ve had and we’re all writing a lot of our parts off the cuff, here in studio. It’s been nerve-wracking at times, but also very freeing and fluid,” says Walsh. “Lyrically, it’s going to be a departure from Satori, simply because that was a break up record of sorts for me. Although I still have much of the lyrics for this record to write, I’ve been finding myself writing in more of a story format, like in much of our earlier work. Musically, we’ve been having a little more fun with synths and programming this time around and the record overall is probably a bit more ‘pop’ than our last couple of releases – but definitely won’t lack our usual tempo/time signature changes or our brand of ‘heavy’. I can’t wait to see how the rest of it develops and we certainly won’t waste any time getting some music out for our fans and friends to jam!”

Prior to entering the studio, I the Mighty revealed a three-song digital release, featuring a new song – “Love Your Sin” and two studio recordings of full-band acoustic renditions of “The Dreamer” and “Speak To Me”, which originally appeared on the band’s Karma Never Sleeps EP and recent debut full-length album, Satori, respectively. The digital-only release was produced by Erik Ron (Panic! at the Disco, Foxy Shazam, I the Mighty), is available now through iTunes and AmazonMP3, and can also be streamed at Youtube.com/equalvision.

Walsh also recently released a solo full-length album of his own, 7, which premiered via Pandora and is out now on Equal Vision Records. The album was recorded with producer Jon Devoto of The Matches. His new music video for “Default World” from 7, can be seen HERE.

I the Mighty has toured with the diverse likes of Say AnythingEisleyCoheed & Cambria, letlive., and Balance & Composure. All upcoming I the Mighty tour dates can be found below, along with tour dates for Brent Walsh who will be heading out on a short west coast solo run in February.
