Music Video Premiere: The Kooks’ ‘See Me Now’

‘The heartfelt, exposing ‘See Me Now’ deserves to be heard’, The Times

The Kooks have gone back to basics with a music video for their stunning new stripped-back song “See Me Now,” directed by Charlie Paul. The video features stunning cinematography as lead singer Luke Pritchard wanders the brightly illuminated and busy streets of a Tokyo at night.

Watch the video below:

The “See Me Now” song and video provides a contrast to the band’s hit single “Bad Habit,” which has spent two weeks at #1 on the Sirius XM Alt 18 Countdown and is now top 30 on the Mediabase Alternative charts.

Produced by young hip hop pioneer Inflo and Luke Pritchard “See Me Now” is another standout track from the critically acclaimed new album ‘Listen’. Where “Bad Habit” struts and swaggers like early Rolling Stones, “See Me Now” is stripped back to Luke’s vocal and piano, it is a lusciously produced ballad where Luke provides a moving eulogy for his father.

The critics have raved about The Kooks new genre defying album ‘Listen’:

  • “…the best thing they’ve done in years.” – PopMatters
