MAY 09 — This summer, William Beckett will perform at a series of amphitheater shows across the US, supporting Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo and Rick Springfield.
“It is my pleasure to announce that I’ll have the privilege of touring with Pat Benatar and Rick Springfield this summer,” shares Beckett. “I’m incredibly honored to have the opportunity to tour with these legendary artists and share my music with them and their fans. I hope to see you on one of the dates!”
Over the past year, Beckett has toured extensively around the world, with a diverse range of acts including: a US run with We Are The In Crowd and Set It Off, a UK tour with The Summer Set that included special performances at Hit The Deck Festival, a headline tour in Japan, and an Australian run with Anberlin and The Maine. Additional recent tours have seen Beckett sharing the stage with Relient K, Hellogoodbye, Rick Springfield, the 2013 Vans Warped Tour and more.
Beckett, former frontman to The Academy Is…, released Genuine & Counterfeit nearly one year ago – his debut full-length album as a solo artist. The album was recorded in his hometown of Chicago, IL with producer Marc McClusky (Weezer, Ludo) and embraces his expansive vocal range, pop sensibilities, quirky yet soothingly hypnotic melodies and distinctive narrative lyrical twists; Offering his most diverse stylings and personal material to date. Genuine & Counterfeit also features guest vocal appearances from Say Anything’s Max Bemis and Mayday Parade’s Derek Sanders.
