LOS ANGELES, CA – May 21, 2015 – BRIT and NME Award-winning UK duo Royal Blood are scheduled to appear for the first time on the legendary Howard Stern Show on Stern’s exclusive SiriusXM channel Howard 100 on Tuesday, June 9th for an interview and performance of their song “Figure It Out”. Stern discovered the band while watching their electrifying performance at the 2014 MTV EMA Awards and has proclaimed “Nobody does heavy music like this anymore.” Stern joins the ranks of the band’s growing legion of outspoken fans, which also includes: Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Jimmy Page, Dave Grohl and Lars Ulrich as well as Tom Morello, and more. The Howard Stern Show airs live 7:00 am -11:00 am ET and is available on SiriusXM On Demand for subscribers listening via the SiriusXM App for smartphones and other mobile devices or online at siriusxm.com. Royal Blood will spend most of the next six months of the year in the U.S. for SOLD OUT headlining dates, festival appearances at Governor’s Ball, Sasquatch, Bonnaroo, Life Is Beautiful, ACL, and stadium dates in the U.K. and U.S. with Foo Fighters. They will also appear on the mainstage at the Reading and Leeds festivals this summer. For a complete itinerary, see below.
Fresh off winning two NME Awards for ‘Best Live Band’ and ‘Best New Band’ and a BRIT Award for ‘Best British Group’, Royal Blood have spent the year touring around the globe and winning over audiences in support of their self-titled debut album, which was released on August 25th by Warner Bros. Records and debuted at Number 1 on the UK Album Chart. Shortly after, the album was nominated for the UK’s prestigious Mercury Prize. The album has now sold over 700,000 copies globally and has produced a Top 10 success at Alternative Radio with “Figure It Out”. Current single “Little Monster” is following in its predecessor’s footsteps.
Royal Blood is 24 year-old vocalist/bassist Mike Kerr and 27 year-old drummer Ben Thatcher. The duo’s sound is a result of a lineage that stretches from present day heroes Queens of the Stone Age to the influential Led Zeppelin, and all the way back to early blues pioneers… yet this huge wall of sound emerges from just two men and two instruments. The band’s ferocious approach to the drums and bass have led them to be hailed as one of the most exciting forces in live music. Entertainment Weekly
