“From deep and thoughtful croons to downright explosive rock, ‘No Mercy’ blends a number of styles into one vigorously gritty and raw song” – Diffuser

New York, NY | January 20, 2015 – Electro-rock project, KIT, is the brainchild of Kit Walters, a New York City-based artist, songwriter, and producer that some may know from his time as front man for progressive metal band Scapegoat (Tragic Hero Records) or as the featured vocalist for the Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance video game. KIT are kicking off 2015 with a gravely new song and sound in new single, “No Mercy.” The aggressive blues-rock track, a departure from KIT’s more electro-infused “Through The Fire” EP (September 2014), is coursing with testosterone and a Sons Of Anarchy-esque swagger. It’s a perfect pairing with Kit Walter’s deep, gravely and powerful voice. When asked about the inspiration behind the song, Kit shares,

“The track is a deeply personal one for me. It came to me out of the blue one night. I wasn’t trying to write a song. But it came nonetheless. I wrote, tracked, and cut the whole thing within one sitting. I’m sure it will mean different things to different people. But for me it completely encapsulates my world over the past few years. The good, the bad, the ups and the downs. It’s a realization of who I am and who I’m not. My strengths and weaknesses, glory and shame. It’s about making peace with all of that. Cuz where the rubber meets the road, all we truly have lies within the four walls through which we perceive our world. The greatest pleasure in life comes from doing what others say cannot be done. No Mercy is a track that pays homage to all the people who told me I would never be standing on the ground I am today.”

ABOUT KIT:
Kit Walters is an American recording artist, songwriter, and producer. At the age of 18, already the dynamic front man for the progressive metal band Scapegoat, he began producing and recording fellow label mates with Tragic Hero Records. With an instinct for memorable hooks, Kit has created numerous fan favorites and bestsellers with artists such as Alesana, A Skylit Drive, and letlive. He’s worked as a writer, producer and composer on projects for World Wrestling Entertainment, West One’s Noise Refinery, Megatrax, and was the featured vocalist for Konami’s cross-platform video game Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

Kit pulls his writing inspiration from everything he can, stating, “It’s really about the song itself for me. I don’t like putting myself in a box creatively or stylistically. The music that comes to me reflects where I’m resonating at that point in time, but at the drop of a hat can easily go in another direction all together.”

Now a seasoned producer, writer, and performer, he is pushing the boundaries with his new project, aptly dubbed KIT. Bringing an explosive energy to the stage in an unconventional, unforgettable blend of rock-inspired electronic pop, Kit Walters called upon the musical expertise of Lisa Hickox (bass/vocals), Spencer Bensch (guitar), Sammy Clark (drums), Ro Young (keys/vocals), and Yuiko Kamakari (Strings), to round out his eclectic sound. KIT released a debut 6-song EP, ‘Through The Fire’, on September 9, 2014 and has had the privilege of sharing the stage with artists such as One Republic, Cobra Starship, Flo Rida, Capital Cities, Kat Graham, Bret Michaels and many more.

With dedication and a fierce passion, KIT has begun to make his mark on the future of pop music. Bringing timeless songs that connect with others on a deep and intimate level, he’ll be releasing his dark and dirty new single, “No Mercy,” in early 2015 and is planning for a sophomore EP in the coming months.
