JUSTIN TOWNES EARLE ANNOUNCES WINTER 2015 US TOUR NEW ALBUM ABSENT FATHERS OUT JAN 13 SECOND ALBUM IN 3 MONTHS AS COMPANION TO SINGLE MOTHERS

“Earle has moved between evocative portraits of place set in knotty emotional frames, prickly confessions of destructive patterns, and melancholic eloquence in

the wake of short-lived love affairs.” NPR

“Justin’s songcraft is fast maturing and this is a concise exercise in laying emotions bare” – The Sun UK

“Whatever category you might inhabit, Justin Townes Earle has something here you need to hear.” – American Songwriter

Following a successful run of headlining tour dates in the U.S. and the success of his critically-acclaimed-fifth-studio-album, Single Mothers and the announcement of the January 13 release of its companion album Absent Fathers, Justin Townes Earle is pleased to announce a new string of tour dates in February and March next year. Beginning on Feb 16 in Tampa, the tour goes up the East Coast and through the Mid Western states, culminating with a performance on March 14 in St. Louis. For the full itinerary, please see below.

On his most recent tour of South Carolina, Justin stopped at the Garden & Gun offices to record three songs for one of their Back Porch Sessions. Watch the session below:

Comprised of 10 tracks, upcoming new album Absent Fathers was recorded alongside Single Mothers as a double album, but as Justin began to sequence it, he felt each half needed to make its own statement and they took on their own identities.

Single Mothers was released on September 9, 2014 via Vagrant Records and, combined with Absent Fathers, the double album perfectly showcases exactly why Justin Townes Earle is considered a forefather of Contemporary Americana. Hailed as an album that’s “showing the world that alt-country can be pretty dope,”(Noisey/Vice), Single Mothers has had great radio success, peaking at #2 on Americana radio charts, #18 on Non-Comm. Single Mothers has been hailed byRolling StonePasteAmerican Songwriter, and Magnet Magazine as one of the best albums of 2014.
