Much like their name, A Love Like Pi, which is comprised of Lief (vocals/guitar/violin), Krier (drums), and Chez (bass), mixes the abstract with the indelible. Drawing from his orchestral background, lead singer Lief arranges pieces that fall along a wide spectrum. From the shimmering and delicate “Jack and the Giant” to the propulsive electronic anthem “Atlas” each A Love Like Pi song offers a new perspective into the trio’s unique dynamic, as well as adding to the album-spanning conceptual narrative the group has committed themselves to finishing.
Regarding the video, the band states, “Jack and the Giant is all about the space that widens between you and your imagination as you grow older: a space that takes up no room in the physical world but feels gigantic to us in certain moments. We wanted the video to feel the same way. The challenge was to create a world that felt expansive, to follow a character we could relate to, and to highlight the ambitious themes of the song all within a space of about the size of a petri dish.”
