ANAKIN DEBUTS NEW SONG, “ARTIFICIAL,” AT BROOKLYNVEGAN.COM

January 27, 2015 – Los Angeles, CA – San Diego’s rising alternative rock band Anakin is gearing up for the release of their new, full-length record, Celestial Frequency Shifter, on February 3rd, and in anticipation has premiered a new song called “Artificial” today at BrooklynVegan.com. “With “Artificial” I wanted/needed to take a crummy experience and somehow present it as a positive,” says the band’s Brad Chancellor. “I think we were able to transmit that, not only in the lyrics, but in the music as well. When someone doesn’t have your best interests at heart, I think it’s natural to weed them out and move on. That’s the case here. I realize it can be easier said than done, but the idea is to erase the noise and renew what surrounds you.

Anakin’s brilliant, buzzing guitar/synth combo is striking a chord with fans and critics alike. Inspired by bands like Weezer, Hum and Failure, the band crafts rich, warm riffs and melodies that overflow with euphonic crescendos as heard on tracks like “Artificial” and “Satellite.
